Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Bradgate Mental Health Unit - bed counting vs. patient risk

Just typed this in response to something on Facebook.  Feeling too weary to write up a full account of today’s meeting at the ward (ward round).
… As J says it’s f-ing ridiculous. In the meeting today they pretty much implied that they are not interested in keeping J safe, and don’t see it as part of their job and despite the lack of warning for us, will not grant her any extra time on the ward, and described the ward as “no longer useful” for J, worried that she might be “dependant” on the ward. The final meeting and discharge date is on Tuesday. They are repeating the same mistakes they made last time despite promises on admission. I can’t imagine a customer led organisation ever being this way. We were a mere inconvenience to the staff today. The doctor hadn’t even read the letter I handed in a few days back. Even complaining is useless. It’s hard to find a course of action which will move fast enough. Bed counters.
